stop using the term 'mental illness'
We need to stop using the term 'mental illness' and 'mentally ill'.
These terms only serve to separate people farther from feeling connected or understood.
It may seem useful but I feel it tears people down and rips them apart and shames and humiliates them. It's not about a mental illness it's about a heart illness that needs to be healed through love...[click to read more...]
Maybe despite all the seemingly good things in life they were given, they still lacked an emotional connection with someone that they truly FELT LOVED with. Maybe they knew they were 'SUPPOSED' to feel love, joy, gratitude, connection and unable to express why they don't feel connection, and the lack of connection becomes the addiction.
Isn't it even worse when you know you are 'supposed to' feel 'love' but ya don't?
Or maybe they did not receive any of the things they needed.
And maybe they received too many things they never should have experienced.
Are they mentally ill? Or heart broken needing love to heal...?
These terms only serve to separate people farther from feeling connected or understood...Unhealed wounds need to be healed. All illnesses need healing. Focus on the healing ....not the illness....this is the course for miracles and every day getting better. I believe in you.
